Well-planned play at Shikshyalaya is a key way in which children learn whilst enjoying themselves and feeling challenged.

Students undertake a modified version of The National Curriculum for Nepal and is taught in small class sizes in mixed ability groups. A strong emphasis is placed on Reading, Writing and Mathematics, though specialist teachers teach Music, Art, Drama, Yoga and Abacus through resource based modern methods of teaching.  Shikshyalaya also provides Special Educational Needs (SEN).
